Modem 2017
MoDem Festival — short for Momento Demento — isn’t just a music festival.
It’s a temporary universe that emerges deep in the Croatian forest, pulsing with sound, light, and raw human energy. Famous for its immersive Dark Psy and Forest Psytrance, MoDem is not just heard — it’s felt, lived, absorbed into the skin.
In 2017, I found myself there, camera in hand, surrounded by towering trees and crystal-clear waters, near the remote village of Mjesto Primišlje. The days were drenched in sun, the nights lit by lasers and stars. Time blurred. People became silhouettes of movement, emotion, vibration.
This series is not a documentation. It’s a sensory imprint.
Faces lost in trance. Feet sinking into dust. Bodies painted in sweat, colour, and rhythm.
Moments of stillness between the chaos — a gaze, a hug, a breath under the canopy.
Here, music isn’t the background — it’s the environment.
The forest breathes with it. The river flows to it.
And for a few days, everyone dances as one.
