Portraits

Portraits

By Christopher Murray Holt

This portrait series brings together people I've encountered through my work in cinema, activism, and travel — actors, friends, humanitarians, and everyday individuals whose presence left a mark.

Some portraits were taken on major productions — Emma Mackey on the moors at night, Richard E. Grant in a chapel during a Netflix shoot, Jennifer Saunders between takes, Stephen Fry, James McAvoy in Croatia for Speak No Evil, and Emily Ratajkowski, with whom I worked for a week on visual content creation.

Others come from more personal or meaningful projects: powerful women engineers working at sea with Sea Shepherd, friends who trusted me with their image, and the people I met while documenting humanitarian efforts in Cameroon with the NGO Entraide et Soins.

Whether captured in controlled studio settings or in the chaos of real life, each portrait aims to reveal something honest — a trace of time
