Feet Around the Globe
Feet Around the Globe
A trace of magical places
By Christopher Murray Holt
Feet Around the Globe is a series that began almost instinctively, over time.
Photographing my feet became a quiet, personal way to keep a trace of the places that moved me. No selfies, no big setup — just a simple imprint of where I was lucky enough to stand.
These images are as much about the inner journey as the outer one. My feet became silent witnesses to the magical places life has taken me.
Like Tuvalu, during my very first mission with Sea Shepherd — a remote island in the heart of the Pacific, suspended between sky and crystal-clear sea.
Or the Modem Festival in Croatia, lost in the forest, where electronic music, dust, and nature melted into one surreal moment.
Or the few intense weeks I spent traveling deep into the Amazon, paddling up the river by canoe, sleeping in hammocks in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by the cries of howler monkeys, giant tarantulas, and crocodiles sliding through the dark waters below.
And then there is Nice — my hometown — its streets, its hills, its familiar golden light.
And further still, the hidden surroundings — like that secret waterfall in Lantosque, where time seems to stop and the world feels untouched.
Each photo is a grounding memory.
It’s not about showing myself — it’s about showing where my feet have taken me.
Through wild beauty, deep silence, or raw awe — this series is my way of saying thank you.
To the path. To the places. To life.
